What to look for when choosing a mount

A few things worth thinking about:

• Where will you use it? Car dash, windscreen, bike handlebars or backseat? Each spot needs a different mount type.
• Grip strength. Will it hold your phone on bumpy roads or sharp turns? Suction cup and magnetic mounts vary, so read the specs.
• One-hand operation. Can you dock and undock your phone quickly? Mounts with a quick-release are much easier to live with.
• Device size. Phone-only mounts typically fit devices from about 4.7 to 7 inches. If you need to hold a tablet, look for a headrest or universal mount.
